(The album)

Before I tell you a damn thing about this album, you are bound by Carty Law to purchase the first officially released product that features a Carty production.  Track 10 is just that (not to mention tracks 5, 6, 9, 11 and 12). Now before you go heading over to Amazon, it's not out until August 21st 2006, and you'll find a link here when it's available for pre-order.

Werewolves Of London is Mantra II's follow up album to 2004's This Is Called Fantasy.  Historically, a band's second album can be the toughest.  Look at the Ants for lack of proof to that statement!   Judging by the tracks I have heard to date, the blows the lid off the first album.  I found some of that album a little hard to digest, but it's strong points have carried through to this release.

The opening track is the title track (the Warren Zevon tune) and is backed by The Wolfmen, Marco Pirroni and Chris Constantinou (who also featured on the Carty track Panzer Mädchen). Ex-Ants drummer, Terry Lee Miall features on three tracks, Confusion, Those Crazy Demons and Angels Are Forever.  The latter also features Marco which reunites the two on record for the first time in 25 years (not including Fat Fun on AntBox)!  Angels is an awesome track but I'll be reviewing the whole album, track by track on this page nearer release day.

If you're wondering what happened to Kevin Mooney's expected appearance, read on...

Cat Mantra says:
Kevin Mooney was originally going to play some bass for us on one of the tracks. (Probably 'Don't We Miss You Now'), but as he has recently joined the Imbeciles he unfortunately just doesn't have the time right now. It's a shame, would've loved to have him on the album. But I'm a big Imbeciles fan, so I'm well chuffed at the same time.
We're more than happy with two Ants and a Vive Le Rocker!
